Children see, Children do...

Our child mimic all what the adults do, therefore we have to be a good example to them, in order to develop a great people. We have to teach them how to assist the people, how to be courteous, humble, friendly, etc. They are our future, so we have the responsibility to create good leaders who can care our world, and be aware that whatever we do they are going to imitate it.

The importance of seatbelts

PURPOSE: The job of the seatbelt is to hold the passenger in place so the passenger is almost part of the car which prevents the passenger from flying forward as the car stops abruptly in the case of a collision.

When a car stops suddenly due to a collision with another object such as another car, a tree, pole, guardrail, etc. the car's acceleration decreases very quickly in a short period of time. This is called deceleration.

A seatbelt has two parts. The first part rests over the passengers’ pelvis and the second part rests over the shoulder and across the chest. When the car stops abruptly the seatbelt applies the stopping force across a large section of the body so the damage is reduced.

Seatbelts are made of flexible materials which have more give then a dashboard or windshield would have. Since seatbelts are flexible one might ask, how do they hold you in place? Seatbelts are designed so that the machinery behind them tightens up the belt to hold the passenger in place when the car decelerates quickly.

It is very important that you use the seatbelt when you are driving. Be careful with your own live.

Facing the Giants

Facing the Giants is the story of Grant Taylor, a high school football coach with a mediocre record. After several poor seasons, the Shiloh Eagles are considering replacing him as head coach. This is not the only problem Taylor is facing; his car is breaking down, the players' fathers are trying to get him fired, and he discovers that he is the reason that his wife Brooke cannot become pregnant.

In order to find a solution to these problems, he prays to God for help. He creates a new coaching philosophy and decides to praise God after each game, no matter what the result. At the same time he guides and urges each one of his players to give the maximum effort, and motivates them to believe they can win under God's guidance. From that point on, he loses only one game but eventually goes on to win the state championship. His prayers for children are also answered when he and his wife have two children of their own.

From my perspective this movie was very interesting because we could learn a lot from it. We always have to believe that there is nothing impossible, and with God we are going to be successful persons. If we want to achieve something we have to put all our effort, being perseverant, fighting, never give up, and we must never forget that God is with us every day. By putting this in practice we are going to achieve whatever we want in our life.

Identity Theft

Identity theft is a form of fraud or cheating of another person's identity in which someone pretends to be someone else by assuming that person's identity, typically in order to access resources or obtain credit and other benefits in that person's name. The victim of identity theft (here meaning the person whose identity has been assumed by the identity thief) can suffer adverse consequences if he or she is held accountable for the perpetrator's actions. Organizations and individuals who are duped or defrauded by the identity thief can also suffer adverse consequences and losses, and to that extent are also victims.

One day a friend was victim of something similar. He was assaulted losing his ID, although he had no major issues, he was affected by this. He completely forgot that he had lost his identification and when he went to the supermarket he couldn’t buy nothing, because he didn’t has cash on hand and all his money was into his debit card, and the cashier couldn’t slide his debit card without any identification.

In summary, he couldn’t buy anything at the supermarket on that day, and he had to go to an ATM to get cash out in order to buy what he needed.

Some important things we can do to protect ourselves is being careful with our personal things, be careful about giving out personal information, and request police assistance immediately when we think we are suffering identity theft.

The Brian Learns

The brain is the center of the nervous system in all vertebrate and most invertebrate animals. Some primitive animals such as jellyfish and starfish have a decentralized nervous system without a brain, while sponges lack any nervous system at all. In vertebrates the brain is located in the head, protected by the skull and close to the primary sensory apparatus of vision, hearing, balance, taste, and smell.

Dr. Silvia Castro spoke about this important topic in the conference as well as the neuroscience which is one of the most important roots of the science.

Neuroscience works in:

  • Describe the human brain and how it functions normally.
  • Determine how the nervous system develops, matures and maintains itself through life.
  • Find ways to prevent or cure many devastating neurological and psychiatric disorders.

In order for us to keep the brain in a good way we have to learn more, analyze what we are doing every day, and keep studying. By doing these our brain will always be in operation and our neurons exercised.

Basically, we have to keep our brain in constantly operation to increase its functionality, and avoid diseases in the future. The brain is one of the most important parts of our body, therefore we have to care it and feed it to improve its performance day by day.
